Deia Privacy Policy

Deia is published under the BBQ Games brand by an independent developer.
Deia displays GPS measurements, a compass and satellites, and records movement. It has no accounts, advertising, analytics or Deia server for track history.
Location and sensors
With your permission, precise or approximate location is used for coordinates, speed, distance, altitude and heading. The compass, satellite status and step sensor provide their respective measurements. After you press Start, GPS can continue with the screen off or the app minimised; Android shows a notification. Pause and Stop end active recording. The app does not request Always allow location access.
Local storage and deletion
Completed GPS tracks, statistics and start/end dates and times remain in private files on your phone until you delete them. Tracks lets you delete one track or all tracks. An unfinished session is not recovered after the process ends. Language, speedometer settings, activity type and optional sex, weight, height and age for calorie estimates are also stored locally. The profile is not sent to a Deia server. Calories are approximate active-energy estimates, not medical measurements. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes the private files; system backup and device transfer of these files are disabled.
Address and third-party services
To show an approximate address, coordinates are passed to Android Geocoder. Its provider depends on your phone and may receive precise coordinates over the internet. Deia does not control that provider’s retention. Maps load over HTTPS from MapTiler or OpenStreetMap. The provider receives your IP address, normal network-request information and the map viewport. The complete track-point list is not uploaded as a separate file. MapTiler policy: https://www.maptiler.com/privacy-policy/ ; OpenStreetMap policy: https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy .
Photos and sharing
During track recording you can capture photos and videos. The camera uses camera and microphone permissions; videos include sound. Accepted captures, capture times and route anchors are stored in private phone files with the track. Discarding removes the temporary capture; deleting a track removes its accepted media. Video preview runs locally. The MP4 is created locally on your phone from the current PNG composition and accepted media. At your request, the completed MP4 is shared with your chosen app through the system share sheet. MP4 copies outside Deia remain until you delete them. Camera and microphone permissions can be revoked in Android settings.
You can select a photo using the system photo picker or take one with the camera for a route illustration. Images are processed locally and may remain in temporary files. A PNG contains the visible route, date, statistics and a calorie estimate if present. It is sent to another app only through a user-initiated system sharing action. Recipients may retain it under their own policies; copies outside Deia are not removed when you delete the local track. Copying coordinates puts them in the system clipboard at your request.
Saving exported files
You can also save PNG and MP4 exports to the shared Downloads/Deia folder on your phone; older Android versions use the system file picker to choose a location. These copies are not removed when you delete a track or Deia.
Music and the online catalogue
Music is selected from the online OpenGameArt catalogue with CC0 license verification. Search and listening require internet access; the site receives catalogue and audio requests, including search words and your IP address. Routes and captured photos/videos are not sent to the music service. Listening is streamed. Only the chosen track is downloaded to temporary storage for MP4 export and removed after completion, failure or cancellation. Leftovers after forced app closure are cleaned at next launch. You can replace audio or mix it with music and adjust volumes.
Your control
Location, physical activity and notification permissions can be granted or revoked in Android settings. Associated features may become unavailable. The calorie profile is optional; you can use other features without entering it. Walking and cycling use their respective estimates; Other activity hides calories. To erase the profile and settings, clear app data in Android; this also deletes tracks.
